Today the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame (GSSHOF) introduced the eight new inductees who will comprise the Class of 2021 during a press conference at the Sports Hall of Fame Showcase at Drivers Village in Cicero, NY. The 19 Liverpool High School Boys Football Teams will be recognized as the 2021 Team of Honor - an award that is sponsored by the Romano Auto Dealerships. This year’s inductees are: Jen Hughes (soccer), Tyvon Branch (football), Tim Connolly (hockey), Tori DeSilvia Beardsley (swimming), Pat Driscoll (basketball official), Ed Carlin (wrestling), Tim O'Hara (lacrosse), and Paul Pasqualoni (football coach). This spring, Mowins became the first woman in Chicago Cubs history to serve as play-by-play announcer.Īs the emcee of the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony, Mowins will introduce the eight new inductees for the 2021 class and the team of honor. In 2017, Mowins became the first woman to call a nationally televised NFL game on ESPN’s Monday Night Football. She has also done NCAA college football play-by-play for ESPN and ABC. Mowins has called NCAA championships in basketball, soccer, volleyball and the Women’s College World Series. The Syracuse native and 1985 graduate of North Syracuse High School joined ESPN in 1994. Mowins, a groundbreaking sports broadcaster, was inducted into the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame in 2009 for her distinguished career.
